Where do the NSW Election candidates stand on animal welfare?

News

With the NSW Election fast approaching, find out how to make your vote count for Australian animals.

Scorecard

The Australian Alliance for Animals scorecard lets you know where parties and candidates stand on six key reform issues for animals;

  1. Stronger Animal Welfare Act
  2. State Animal Welfare Authority
  3. Ministerial portfolio recognition of animal welfare
  4. Phase out battery cages
  5. End native forest logging
  6. End puppy farming.

 The Australian Alliance for Animals is a group of Australia’s key animal protection organisations creating systemic change for animals.

At the start of the election campaign the Australian Alliance for Animals contacted all major parties and listed candidates asking for their responses to key Alliance policies. Six of these policies are featured on the scorecards.

It is critical that the candidates hear from voters about animal welfare issues. This Election provides us with an opportunity to really put animal welfare on the agenda.

Together, we can use this Election to help ensure millions of Australian animals have good lives.
