From securing better laws for animals to shining a bright light on animal suffering, YOU really stood up for animals in the past few months. Together, we:
๐ Secured an end to elephant rides in Indonesia and Bali after nine years of campaigning.
๐ป Helped secure a historic ban on bear bile farming in South Korea after decades of dedication, tireless advocacy and working along with our partners at Green Korea United.
โ๏ธ Released a report with Action for Dolphins exposing Sea World on the Gold Coast as the last venue in Australia breeding polar bears and dolphins in captivity. We achieved TV, radio and online coverage on this issue too!
๐ฌ Supported local groups to monitor the Cove in Taiji, Japan. Here, they documented the dolphins and whales captured and killed or transported to entertainment venues during the annual dolphin hunt.
Indonesia takes world‑leading step
Mason Elephant Park and Bali Zoo end elephant rides after the Indonesian Government issued a new directive urging tourism operators to respect elephants.
๐ฎ Held a peaceful vigil outside the McDonald’s Headquarters in Sydney, raising our concerns about their use of feedlots. Following this, we secured a meeting with them to discuss this important issue face-to-face.
๐ฅ Supported our friends Moo to Ewe Farm sanctuary to build a bigger and more secure enclosure to keep their rescue chickens safe.
๐น๐ Launched our Bred to Entertain report based on 15 years of research, making it the most detailed investigation of Thailand’s captive elephant tourism industry to date.
๐ฆ Sponsored an award for Effective International Advocacy and Impact at the Animal Justice Awards that was given to Madison Stewart from Project Hiu for transitioning shark fishermen away from killing wildlife toward sustainable tourism.
