Plant-based mushroom “chicken wing” recipe


Our plant-based chicken wings recipe will have you drooling. You won't believe it’s a mushroom.


1 cup flour

1 cup water

2 tbs vegan chicken salt or seasoning all purpose

Oyster mushrooms

½ cup flour

½ cup cornflakes (crushed)

1 tbs smoked paprika




  1. Add the flour, water and seasoning to a bowl then stir together until it’s a smooth consistency
  2. Add the oyster mushrooms to the bowl and, using a wooden spoon, coat then evenly with the mix
  3. To another dish, add flour, the crushed cornflakes, smoked paprika and seasoning then stir to combine evenly
  4. Then dredge each battered mushroom through the dry mix until evenly coated
  5. Shallow fry the mushrooms in hot oil until golden brown
  6. Remove mushrooms and drain on paper towels for a minute or two
  7. Serve on a wooden chopping board with your choice of dipping sauce
  8. Enjoy!
