Plant-based Burger Recipe

You'll want to save this burger recipe for your summer BBQs! Add your favourite fillings and it'll be a crowd hit!

Ingredients:

2 small onions

10 mushrooms sliced or diced

500 grams red beans

2 tsp garlic powder

2 tsp smoked paprika

2 tsp cumin

2 tbs nutritional yeast

1 cup oats

2tbs tomato sauce

Salt and Pepper  

 

Method:

  1. Bring a fry pan to medium heat and add the chopped onion and diced mushrooms then sauté and stir for at least seven minutes until the onions are translucent and tender
  2. Spoon the mixture into a bowl and add the red beans, garlic powder, smoked paprika, cumin, nutritional yeast, oats, tomato sauce, and salt and pepper
  3. Use a hand blender to combine the mixture
  4. Using your hands, shape the mixture into burger patties
  5. Add several patties to a pan on medium heat and fry on each side until crisp and golden
  6. Place patties onto sliced buns with fresh salad and sauce of your choice
  7. Serve and enjoy!
