Meat chickens grow too fast in factory farming

News

In Australia, about 700 million chickens are raised for meat, many of them in factory farms.

Chickens are bred to grow unnaturally large and unnaturally quickly. Fast growing chickens suffer from breathing issues, skin burns and broken bones and extreme psychological stress. They suffer at every stage of their short lives.

Watch the video to find out how much a human baby would weigh at just two months, if it grew as fast as these chickens.

There is a better way. We want these birds to have a life worth living: that means more time to grow, more space to move, more natural lighting and more opportunities to behave like a chicken.

It’s time to make a change for chickens. Join us and demand slower growing chicken breeds.
