Another leading Chinese pharmaceutical company goes wildlife-friendly
Thanks to your support, another major Chinese pharmaceutical company pledged to stop using wild animal ingredients in their products and opt for herbal and humane alternatives instead.
It’s great news for wildlife all over as Zhejiang Wuchan Zhongda Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (ZWZP) in China becomes the latest company to sign our Wildlife Not Medicine pledge.
You have now moved 14 major pharmaceutical companies in China to sign our Wildlife Not Medicine campaign since its launch in 2019. Together, we will continue working towards ending the exploitation of our planet’s wildlife until the last cage is empty.
Not only did ZWZP Pharmaceutical pledge to stop producing or selling products containing wild animal ingredients but have also committed to educating their staff and consumers about herbal and humane alternatives.
Mr Xie Gang, ZWZP Director, said:
“We fully embrace the idea of wildlife-friendly medicine advocated by World Animal Protection. We are willing to take actions to ensure medicinal materials, medicines and healthcare products that we supply are wildlife-free.”
As a company that is listed among the world’s top 500 since 2011, this huge step in the right direction is set to inspire more pharmaceuticals to opt for more sustainable, non-animal alternatives which will in turn help end the needless suffering of animals in the name of traditional medicine. Forever.
Thank you for everything you do to protect vulnerable wild animals around the world.
