Plant-based festive foods at Aussie supermarkets

News

Are you saying YES to more plant-based food this festive season? If so, you’re in luck as there’s never been more delicious plant-based foods to choose from at Aussie supermarkets.

Whether you are looking to go totally plant-based or just switch out some elements of your Christmas dinner to meat- and dairy-free alternatives, there’s a real smorgasbord of options available this year.

We’ve rounded up the most exciting plant-based festive foods available in your local big brand supermarkets so you can start planning your  Christmas feast.  Check out some of these delicious options.

COLES

Coles have a range of plant-based Christmas food on offer this year. As a centrepiece dish, why not go for the Coles Plant-based Christmas Roast with Sweet Tomato Chutney. It’s lightly-seasoned with mixed herbs and onion, served with sweet chutney with hints of apple, tomato and rosemary.

Then, for the all-important dessert, there’s Coles Matured Christmas pudding packed with juicy vine fruits and a hint of cider and rum—yum, c’mon, you know you want that!

WOOLWORTHS

Woolies have you covered, too, with mains such as Woolworths Vegan Cauliflower & Mushroom Wellingtons. These flaky, individual Wellingtons contain a filling of cauliflower, mushrooms and onion served with a moreish rosemary and red wine jus. Or try Woolworths Plantitude Plant Based Christmas Roast Cranberry—a satisfying main dish with a traditional feel.

And for dessert, it’s going to be a really tough decision. Will it be a fresh pavlova with the Woolworths Plantitude Petite Meringue Nests or the Woolworths Plantitude Vanilla Custard accompanied by fruits?

The variety and number of plant-based foods available demonstrates the continued investment big Australian supermarkets are making in plant-based foods, releasing a number of new, plant-based options as part of their Christmas food offerings.

So, if you’re looking for a kinder choice for animals this Christmas, add more tasty and nutritious plant protein meals. Adding more plant protein into your diet is good for your health, the environment, and animals around the world.
