How you can help animals in 2023

News

The New Year is a time for change. Your small, everyday choices can help animals, so here are our top five resolutions for 2023.

1.Eating more plant protein

By adding more plant-based options to your diet like beans and lentils or swapping out your milk, meat or eggs for a veggie alternative can often have a positive effect on all those considerations.

2.See wildlife in their natural habitat

Across the world and in Australia, wild animals are bred in captivity or captured, taken from their natural habitats, and suffer a lifetime of cruelty and abuse for profit and entertainment. You can end the exploitation of wild animals for entertainment and promise to not visit attractions that use wild animals for entertainment. Pledge to only see dolphins in the wild where they belong.

3.Protect more animals in need

In 2022, you helped protect millions of animals around the world – on farms and in the wild. You could help us achieve even more by pledging a monthly gift. Your donation could help end the cruel trade in wild animal, fund ground-breaking investigations or transform the global food system to give farmed animals lives free from suffering.

4.Be the generation to change the lives of chickens

Chickens on these farms grow so quickly their bodies can’t keep up. Eventually they are unable to stand, and they can barely breathe. On top of this, they are cramped into tight spaces together with not enough room to express natural behaviours – it’s a stressful and horrible environment that has no regard for the bird’s welfare. Despite being famous for their chicken, KFC are lagging behind other fast-food outlets in Australia when it comes to chicken welfare. Call on KFC to sign the Better Chicken Commitment and put a stop to the cruelty these creatures experience.

5.Be a voice for animals!

One of the most impactful ways you can help animals anytime of the year is to speak up and share information about their suffering. Post on Facebook, Tweet about, make a TikTok video - just help get the word out so that others can learn about the issues and make better choices to create lasting change for animals. Not sure where to start? Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or TikTok.

Thank you for helping to protect countless animals around the world. Happy 2023!
