At this year’s iconic Sydney City2Surf, animal lover Ashley Johnson decided to run and raise money for animals in need. We’re incredibly grateful for her support.
We decided to catch up with Ashley and find out a bit more about her fundraising experience and why she chose to fundraise to help animals in need.
1. Have you run the City2Surf previously?
Never, this was my first time running the City2Surf
2. Tell us why you decided to run for World Animal Protection
I'm very passionate about animal welfare and rights, I've seen what you guys do around the world and I wanted to help in any way I could.
3. What were the best and worst moments of the City2Surf?
One of the best moments was seeing all the great people running. Everyone was happy and friendly!
The worst moment was after the race - I was in pain!
4. What is your favourite animal and why?
I love all animals no matter how big or small. But my favourite would have to be dogs, everytime I see a dog I always have to go pat them.
5. Do you have any fundraising tips for other supporters looking to help animals?
Get involved with whatever you can! It's easy to fundraise and it makes you feel awesome. There are plenty of local platforms where you can be involved like fairs and community events. Every little bit counts.
