Lateline live export exposé

24 October 2014

This week’s exposé of cruelty to animals exported live from Australia is the latest in a long list of shocking incidents.

“World Animal Protection is appalled by the atrocious cruelty recorded by the Animals Australia investigators in Gaza, Jordan and Kuwait which aired on Lateline on 22 October.

“We demand an urgent and thorough investigation. Prosecutions with tough penalties must follow for any exporters found responsible.

“World Animal Protection supporters have been writing to the Prime Minister in their thousands to demand better treatment for our farm animals.

“We call on the government to prioritise a transition out of this cruel trade and into the export of meat processed in Australia.”
