Australians taking a stand against live animal export this election

14 May 2019

Thanks to the 11,500 Australians who took a stand and signed our open letter to the next Prime Minister demanding an end to the cruel live export industry.

The open letter you’ve signed appeared in today’s Australian Financial Review. We’re putting your message in front of the eyes of politicians and voters to ensure this issue can’t be ignored.

Thank you for being a voice for Australian animals. Be sure to keep a look out for the letter and share it with family and friends.

Next Steps

The live export industry is inherently cruel, and millions of animals suffer on these perilous journeys each year. That’s why it’s crucial we continue to apply pressure in the lead up to the Election. Please consider taking an extra step and writing to or calling your local MP to tell them to support a ban on live export. You can find your local MP and their contact details here.

If you want to find out where the major parties stand on the issue of live export, we’ve put together a quick explainer to help you make your decision on Election Day.

Thank you again to all those who have worked alongside us to end this cruel trade. We’ll continue to fight for an end to live export and will keep you updated on progress after the Federal Election.
